Description
I received the attached letter today from some Texas company which appears to colorably claiming to be authorized a Government Energy Aggregation (GEA). I like that my energy is locally sourced using nuclear and natural gas. However, the notice falls short as it does not provide the NJBPU required notice terms including the identification of the ordinance or resolution passed to form the GEA. Further the notice is required to explain the cost to the customer of participation in the program and any other information necessary to enable the customer to compare the program to other alternatives. "This information should include a typical residential customer annual bill comparison between the selected supplier and the utility’s approved BGS rates." No such sample bill was included with notice. Given these deficiencies, this appears to be a slamming violation and should be reported to NJ BPU.
