Thank you for looking into this Jay. When we go to the dump (where we bring our leaves and brush etc. ) we have to show proof of St Pete residency. That’s so other towns aren’t using the facilities that the St. Petersburg taxpayers are paying for. Perfectly fair system. So you bring up a good point, why should out-of-towners be allowed to use the St Pete boating ramps and parking spaces that the St Pete taxpayers are paying for? The dump attendants are still checking for permits during this time so why should the police be any different?

I have a Hillsborough tag but live in St. Pete and boaters are tax payers too. The problem lies with not enough trailer parking and what is there is taken up by construction equipment. ive called on this issue and they first said all that stuff was from pier construction (no where near the pier) but when i called again then they said no marina construction. its been there over a year and took i think 3 to 5 trailer spots.

Kp , How can you have a Hillsborough tag If you live in Saint Pete? I’m new in Florida but in New Hampshire you have to register your vehicles and trailers etc. in the town in which you live and pay taxes. Is it different down here?

Boaters will be boaters. So...you loss spots because of Pier construction, so you're going to take multiple parking spacings to get "even". ...tell me that any boater parking in a two hour auto space is going to come back in two hours!!! You know that St Pete is not monitoring the parking at Demens...you can't use the boat ramps in your county, so you take up ours. Be adults and admit it. The police have more important things to do than monitor parking spaces...however, I'm sure many St Pete residents will start working toward freeing up the Demen's AUTO parking spaces now...Just wanted to make the great people of St Pete aware of the nature of SOME boaters.
