The signal where the westbound ramp from the Bush Turnpike intersects Preston is VERY slow for traffic turning right from the Bush ramp to northbound Preston; it is signed no right on red. The Preston traffic cycles several times before the right-turning traffic from the Bush Turnpike even gets one chance, this is especially bad at night!!!

The City of Plano signal shop checked the detection at this intersection and did not find any problems.
Transportation Engineering personnel observed the operation of this signal from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The longest it stayed red for traffic turning right from the westbound ramp was one minute and four seconds, which appeared to be appropriate given the heavy traffic on Preston.
