Private street light repairs to be called into National Grid.

Researched this address more and found that we did take that street light over in 2012. Sorry for the mix up. I will forward this repair to the street light contractor today, 10/10/13.

The street light at 18 cotton tail was repaired 10/10/13. The 50 watt lamp was replaced.

Good Evening!

I was so hoping that the light would come on this evening, but it did not. I checked with our neighbors at 18 Cotton Tail and this is what she recalls as the last status update she received almost a year ago (see below). Would you please be so kind to look into this further and see if the light is even connected and/or turned on. I am hopeful that you will find a resolution to this and keep us updated. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

"The light is not on. I believe it actually has to be turned on and then someone has to pay for usage. As I recall Bill was trying to work with both DPW and National Grid and there was some problem between those two companies. That was a whole year ago so I'm really not sure where we stand now."

I did more research. Sorry but I was correct when I said we did not accept Cotton Tail Lane. I contacted the developer yesterday. I would describe him as less than cooperative. Therefore I have called National Grid to inquire if the developer can be billed in the interim and I am waiting for a response. Presently, there is no electricity going to that street light. The long and short of this problem is that the town can not take responsibility for the street light until the street has been accepted. I will get back to you with National Grids response.

National Grid acknowledged that they will bill the developer. I forwarded my National Grid contacts phone and email to the developer so that billing can get set up. You will probably know if this issue is resolved before I do. I will follow up.

I spoke with the nice gentleman from the electric company at the base of the light this morning and it sounds like the developer never got National Grid out to connect the wiring from the light to the street power source, so I am so glad you are on top of this! I will let you know if/when we see the light come on. Please don't hesitate to contact me to check after what you think would be a reasonable amount of time for the developer's office to contact the electric co. and for them to get a man out here to do it. I do hope the developer does attend to it immediately upon receipt of your communication and doesn't create any more delays in getting it running.

National Grid notified me that the light was energized on Dec. 17, 2013. I had my contractor verify and he informed me the light was functional. Thank you for your patience. Please contact me if the above information is not valid.
