The San Francisco Health Code requires property owners to maintain their property free of public health nuisances such as mold, garbage, insects, pests, rodents and toxic hazards. The San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) has several programs that enforce these requirements. The Healthy Housing and Vector Control Program at SFDPH monitors environmental conditions that can lead to breeding of pests, such as garbage accumulation, neglected & overgrown vegetation, and stagnant water.

I reported the issue at 3421 20th Street to the Healthy Housing and Vector Control Program. They are processing this complaint now. When I receive an official complaint number from their office, I will forward it to you for your reference.

Please note that service requests/complaints are assigned to an Environmental Health inspector. Most service requests result in an on-site physical inspection by an inspector. DPH's goal is to conduct an inspection within a week of receiving an initial request.

If a violation(s) is found, the inspector will issue the responsible party a Notice of Violation describing the violation, corrective actions needed, and a correction time. Correction time varies from 1-30 days.
