In front of City Girl Cafe & Catering on Hampshire Street in Inman Square, Cambridge, there is an uncovered cavity in the pavement. It is encased in plastic tubing and wide enough for someone to step into. In fact, that is what happened to me as I was crossing the street. My entire leg sunk into the hole because I wasn't looking at the pavement underneath me. When I extracted my leg, the front and back of my calve was badly scraped, bruised, and bloodied. I could have gotten hurt much more severely and I am sharing so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
