Please be aware that construction on F Street will be starting next month, and the neighborhood will have to use D st for local access.

  How do I also request speed bumps be put on our street? We live on 8th St SE and people speed through here going at least 45-50 miles an hour! It happens constantly and there are kids and pets outside. I was backing out of my driveway and had to slam my brakes because of someone speeding through here.

  Due to the financial impact of COVID-19 on the City of Auburn, the City is implementing changes in services that are necessary to address the actual and anticipated losses in general fund revenues for 2020. Within the Public Works Department. this will mean a reduced level of service in some areas - mainly street/vegetation and transportation programs, because they are fully dependent on general fund revenues.

  As a result, at this time, the City is no longer conducting speed studies or installing traffic calming treatment in response to citizen requests. Speeding complaints are referred to the Police for enforcement only.

  It has always been the City’s goal to maintain the highest possible level of customer service to the community, so we do not take this reduction lightly and we continue working towards returning to our normal levels of service as soon as financially feasible.

  So everyone from F ST are going to be adding to the race track on D ST? People speed down D St, blow through the stop signs going 45+, on a blocked off, dirt road due to construction. They are now also racing down the alley between D and E streets. Even the police speed through in personal vehicles to and from work, and run the stop signs. People need to stay on Auburn Way S, not race through the construction zones on D ST. It's ridiculous, they even lie to the flaggers to get onto our block, which only has 8 houses and 2 businesses on it, saying they live here. The flaggers mostly know better now.
