Description

Every time it rains, or snow melts, this low spot collects a large pool of water, near the curb. I ride my bicycle, or walk, by this section nearly seven days a week. Have been for over five years. This area used to just be a large-ish puddle, now it is a small lake.

The problem is that it has grown out into the traffic lane and cars, trucks and buses cannot now miss it, resulting in a large plume of water cascading across the sidewalk. As a pedestrian, one has to time the walk past this spot, with traffic, or will be soaked! Just this morning I waited a full 2 minutes for an opening in traffic, just to walk the fifteen foot gauntlet, quickly, and avoid the wave of water.

It has, now, grown far enough to include a low lying manhole cover, in the middle of the lane. So, even if traffic is light and a motorist attempts to move over and not splash you, they can still inadvertently send a splash to the sidewalk!

I sincerely hope this can be corrected before Winter. Being splashed in the winter cold can be very detrimental to one's health. I know.
