please, please fix this road!!

Fixed? Heavens no! The road is going to be a dirt road ... might be better off as a dirt road, come to think of it.

It's the lack of drainage ditches with culverts under the driveways that has caused most of the damage (and flooding) from Pancake Hollow Road to approx 1 mile past Bailey's Gap Rd.

From just before RHR (heading e/b) the road is crumbling. Saw a state truck out and they tossed patch in some holes about RHR then stopped, didn't fill in the HUGE holes or that older patch job, "the cliff" (that unfortunately stuck befow the gas station) that broke my suspension.

Still there... and the state highway crew is making an attempt at "drainage" (what a mess!) without addressing drainage problme (run-off) from driveways and sideroads; in other words, the real problem (cause) of the bad state of 44/55 is not being addressed.

No this has not been fixed; their have been several attempts to patch places of this road, and even one lane, but those fixes are so poorly done, the problem is only worse. And since tropical storm Irene (then Lee) the road and errosion are worse, the flooding however was the same in that area but a portion of 44/55 (South St intersection) washed out. Now we have a dangerous detour and road in worse shape than ever. I really wish the state would do not just a repair, but fix to the problems that mess up this heavily traveled road.

Why are the better state highways being repaved, while 44/55 remains a driving hazard? :Shakes Head:Sighs: My car was damaged on this road, same area; heading East, and just past Rocking Horse Ranch.
