Description
This issue got deleted evidently.
Whats the update on the 1/2 street wide pothole that is now about 5-6in DEEP!
I know the city is trying to put this off on the NEW property owners that are there like the ABC store and the BP that the hole is in between but this issue has been here for a long time and needs to be fixed before it causes a major accident and someone gets hurt.
Having the ABC store and BP pay to have it fixed will result in them taking forever to do so as they are as in the dark on the issue as anyone else after speaking with both personally.

The Council took the following action today. This should ultimately solve the problem. I cannot predict right now when the project will commence but it will likely take place during the summer construction season:
The Raleigh City Council voted unanimously today to move forward with a City-initiated project to make improvements to Olympia Drive.
Located in Renaissance Park in south Raleigh, Olympia Drive has deteriorated and is in need of repair. The City had hoped the six property owners on Olympia Drive would assume the costs of the improvements in a petition effort. The City sent letters to the property owners about the petition proposal but only two responded, with one owner indicating they do not support the project.
The City is proposing that 100 percent of the construction cost for the improvements be assessed to the abutting property owners. The assessments would range from $3,180 to $10,303. In addition, the City would pay the approximately $15,200 cost of the improvements adjacent to the Wilmington Street right-of-way. The total cost of the project is approximately $50,100, with the six property owners paying approximately $34,900 and the City approximately $15,200.
The City Council will schedule a public hearing on the proposed assessments for the Olympia Drive improvements.
