Descrizione
Sidewalk badly in need of complete overhaul, not a temporary patchwork fix. My elderly mother fell on this sidewalk 2-1/2 weeks ago, injuring one ankle and one knee. She has been unable to walk since. Apparently, the town thinks the state owns the sidewalk and vice versa, so no one has taken responsibility, including the landlord, Bernardi Family Trust. I am outraged as this accident should have been prevented. (Incidentally, my mother has patronized the businesses in this building for over 50 years.)

Hello Ms. Doran
Thank you for your email. I am sorry to hear of your mother's accident.
The DPW and the property owners (Bernardi Family) have discussed this issue with the Mass Highway Department. The District Highway Director, Patricia Leavenworth, has acknowledged that this sidewalk is the State's responsibility and that the area has been added to its sidewalk repair list. This information was provided to us in May 2009.
Please feel free to call their office at 781-641-8437, contact: Brett Loosian to obtain more information on the status of this work.
