It is the homeowners responsibility to maintain the pavement. The City offers a service called root shaving, in which the constituent must remove the pavement to allow access to the roots. Once the roots are shaved then the constituent can repair the pavement. Note that per the picture submitted, the tree pit should be expanded to allow the tree room to grow. The constituent can reach this office at 201-547-4449.

In an effort to improve our city tree maintenance services, the office responsible for this category has changed. As we assess this category’s backlog , we are closing out all requests filed prior to January 1, 2021. If your request has been closed out as a result, please do not hesitate to re-open it if the reported issue persists.
