Tourists waiting to drive down the Crooked Street pull into the intersection even when there is no room for them to start up the hill due to other cars. This leaves Polk St. blocked to cross traffic, and makes it extremely difficult for cars, bikes, and pedestrians to navigate this intersection safely.

The City has been assigning Parking Control Officers on the weekends to address the traffic caused by summer tourists for the crooked street. We will have officers for this Labor Day weekend as well. Generally the more chronic problems should diminish after Labor Day weekend. If there are any gridlock problems in this area please call Parking Enforcement at 553-1631.
