"Plague the city with signs"? Seriously? Asking for one speed limit sign in the neighborhood in which I pay possibly the highest property taxes in the state of connectictut is considered a "plague"?

What does slow people down then? A cop sitting posted at the top or bottom of the hill? One of those big flashing speed limit signs that everyone blasts by anyway ( as you pointed out). Someone getting hurt or killed? People run up that hill, walk their dogs on that hill, take their children for walks on that hill. It's dangerous, and it's the same people doing it every single day.

I can always just call the police department with license plate numbers of all the people that repeatedly speed up and down the street where it's a "known fact that it's 25 MPH". Maybe that's a better use of tax payer money? I'm just trying to be part of the solution before somone really gets hurt. Please feel free to share a better one.

Cant put speed limit signs in every neighborhood. As everyone should know if it's not posted its 25mph . A speed limit sign will not slow cars down. Put in a request with the West Haven Police Traffic Unit for speed inforcement. Any normal person who is driving through a neighborhood knows that the speed limit is not more then 25mph so yes someone can get a ticket. I didn't know is not going to work. And im sure you allways drive the speed limit. By the way be carefull what you ask for. Most of the time when enforcement is requested its the requester thats getting ticketed for the very complaint that he or she is complaining about.

Also, put another stoplight at the bottom...it's playing with fire if you have to take a left onto Ocean Ave!!

Based on West Haven's track record nothing will be done until an accident happens and then it will be too late. The city needs to be more proactive about the safety of its citizens. Too many times the city and respective departments have been reactive and in doing so have caused numerous families to suffer uncessarily. For a city that receives so much revenue in taxes we should have services equal to the likes of Westport, Fairfield, Guilford but we don't. Mother nature gave us LIS so don't even try a rebuttal of our money going to take care of the waterfront.

Not gonna happen
