Property is getting cleaned up but it is a slow process. I do stop and talk with the tenant and I do see progress taking place. I will continue to check on this property weekly.

We need a deadline. This is not the first issue with this property. This has gone on much too long. Need a letter with a deadline. As our policy dictates, daily fines should be assessed if deadline is missed.

2nd letter sent today 1/4/2021. Homeowner no longer lives at this resident. Squatters have moved in and there is not electricity or water service at this property

Homeowner is still responsible for getting the property up to code, correct? This is getting ridiculous.

The homeowner should still be responsible and accountable for their property. They may need to be notified of their rights as far as the squatters and how to evict them. Can PD not remove them for trespassing? Agreed, something needs to be done! It looks like a meth/crack house. Scary.

We are in contact with our legal team, to determine the next step in this matter.

Are there been any updates on this? How is it progressing? It doesn't appear that much has changed since February.

This property is in foreclosure and in the hands of Truist Bank (formerly BB&T). Our attorney has been in very frequent contact with them but it is not moving along very quickly. They are aware how embarrassing this is to our town. I know it appears that we are not doing anything but we are doing everything we legally can do.

The foreclosure alluded to above is in pending status.

3 months later. Any progress on this slum/crack house?

It is nice to see some progress has been made. What are the long term goals/plans in place to prevent this type of situation from happening again?
