The City of Oakland Public Works Agency has received this issue. It is registered as service request # 502880. Please check back for status updates or contact us directly at (510) 615-5566.
Thank you for contacting the Public Works Agency regarding this matter. However, additional information is needed before your request can be processed. Are you reporting that the city crew did not finish the job they were doing? or are you requesting for the removal of the 2 broken a-frames? Also, would you know what type of work they were doing?, and how long ago did this take place? Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for responding to my request in a way that further cements Oakland city government's reputation as a can't-do organization. Does it make any difference at all what type of work was left incomplete? Did you look at the photo, which clearly shows a half-filled pothole (in the crosswalk) and two city-owned saw horses left to rot? Cars running over these sawhorses have broken them, spreading non-biodegradable plastic throughout the intersection. In addition, the city has wasted the money it spent to buy these barriers and will likely spend more to replace them. These barriers have been rotting in place at least three weeks. Thanks to your stalling, they're still there a week after my report. I wish i knew your name, because as a taxpayer you work for me, and as your boss, i am extremely disappointed in your response to this request.
Gosh, Ben. Don't you know it's up to the residents of Oakland to keep track of what city work is being done when and by whom? Don't you keep a spreadsheet? Those broken barriers cannot be picked up and that pothole cannot be filled until the PWA knows who is responsible.
PWA, isn't it obvious that the broken A-frames need to be picked up and that the clearly visible hole in the crosswalk they were put around needs to be filled before someone breaks an ankle and makes a claim against the city?
