Volunteer trees are not considered noxious by the State of Iowa and the City can not tell anyone to remove them. The weeds have to be living for a weed notice to be sent to the property owners. The Fire Pit is not considered a nuisance as the Mason City Fire Department regulates these, contact them at 421-3640 for further information. Code Enforcement will deal with the property owners to get the pallets and loose debris cleaned up from the yard.
