Drivers on Pacific simply do not cede right of way to pedestrians crossing Pacific in marked crosswalks. I’ve almost been hit three times in the past week. We urgently need enforcement and traffic calming.

The Grand St pedestrian crossing at Pacific Ave is a major threat to safety. Drivers traveling from East to West routinely run through a red light, even when there are pedestrians in the middle of the crosswalk. The school crossing guards who work here can vouch for this. I have crossed here at least twice daily for the past five years and have a close call with aggressive drivers running lights on at least a weekly basis. Someone is going to get killed. Regular enforcement and calming are urgently needed here.

Walk signal at NE corner of Pacific and Lafayette is rotated 45 degrees. Pedestrians on the opposite side of the street are unable to see the status of the walk signal.

Business is blocking sidewalk access with its advertising. This McDonald’s has, for the last several months, planted an advertising banner that hangs across the Grand St sidewalk. They could easily move it back five feet onto their property. Or they could simply remove it given that it’s obvious there’s a McDonald’s right there. In any case, they have no right to block pedestrian access with their advertising. Please enforce.

Where do I begin?

Turpentine/chemicals in neighborhood water system. Our home and neighbors’ homes smell strongly of turpentine or paint thinner. Smell is emanating from drains in our bathrooms. Suspect that someone locally has poured toxic chemicals down the drain or sewer system.

Whoever left a shopping cart full of debris on Halladay last week seems to be at it again on another block. Please collect.

Very large chunks of this tree's branches frequently drop from the tree onto a residential sidewalk. It's only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured. Also, the branches sit uncollected on the sidewalk for weeks or months afterwards. Pick them up!
