    The large tree on the West side of the sidewalk cutting across this D.C. controlled Reservation (triangle park) has a number of large dead branches that need to be removed. The dead limbs are becoming an overhead hazard - as shown in the attached photo.

    Last August (2016) the previous tree was removed following a storm that broke most branches off. Ten months later and the stump has not been removed. Please remove the stump and plant a new canopy tree. I do NOT want another Elm tree.

    Late in June, 2016, the tree was marked for removal until a storm in early August, 2016 broke off most remaining branches and the tree was removed on an emergency basis. So far, there are no markings on the curb and no word as to when the stump will be removed - or whether the location is even on a list for stump removal. I requested a new tree last June, 2016 - what's up?

    This issue replaces #238331, Pedestrian Crossing Signals Lacking, first reported by EB on Sept. 24, 2012. Issue is that there is NO pedestrian signal across Massachusetts Ave NE at 6th Street, just North of the park. Additionally, there is now a 96 Bus stop just 50 yards to the West. Due to multiple streets intersecting here (Mass Ave, 7th Street and Constitution), the traffic patterns are complicated and difficult to tell when it's safe to cross. This is especially a problem at school opening and closing times.

    637 Constitution NE - my tree broke again in the storm this afternoon. I think there is already a work #520236 to remove the tree - possibly in the next few days. I have moved the end of the hanging limb to the side of the sidewalk for now.
