Notified About

  • 274-292 10th St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown
On 12/15/17 I reported illegal stopping/standing in front of the Embankment House (issue 3954356) and requested that no stopping or standing signs be placed in front of the entrance to this building. 3 months ago Andrew V indicated that the no stopping or standing signs would be installed. On 1/29 Jennifer C reported that the signs were installed and the issue was closed. This is not true. No Stopping/Standing signs were not installed in front of the entrance. Instead No Parking signs were installed at each corner. As you can see from the photo, this is still a problem. It is creating hazardous road conditions every day and it is only a matter of time before there is an accident. Reopen this issue and fix it properly.
  • 191-193 Newark Avenue Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown

Gypsy Grill's sidewalk cafe area extends more than halfway across the total width of the sidewalk. It is very problematic during rush hour.

There are unused holes for the fencing that appear to be in the proper place, but they do not use those.

  • 8 Erie St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown
Talde regularly draws very loud crowds late at night on weekdays. The crowds are barely the problem, they often draw people blaring music from their cars at unreasonable volumes and revving their engines late at night. Why are there never police around at night in such a busy area?
  • 205 15th Street Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown
Every day more and more garbage from the junkies at the shelter come to the church and trash the place up. We have mice, rats, and possum problems. Kids can't play on the sidewalk because there is tons of drug paraphernalia left overs please helps us out its on going.
  • Second Street And Marin Boulevard Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown

This issue was reported on November 1, 2016 ( Stating "this intersection has not been turned over to the City of Jersey City as of yet. It is still under construction. We have reported this SCF to the Contractor, Tiffany Electric. " is a lame excuse for Jersey City Government to sidestep doing their job. Isn't someone in the city responsible for overseeing contractor work? This is simply a sign that Jersey City just does not care about it's pedestrians. This problem would have been fixed within days if part of the vehicular traffic light was broken or missing. FIX THE ISSUE AND HOLD THE CONTRACTOR ACCOUNTABLE.

Jersey City - make it yours - because the government of Jersey City doesn't care enough to make it theirs!

  • 321-327 Grove St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown

We all know the person who is handicapped and sitting on a wheel chair in the sidewalk of Columbus and Grove near the square or near the PATH entrance.
Whose responsibility it is to take care of him? Looks like someone drops in and picks him. While I surely want to join the others to help him , don't know how to. Should the city take care of it ?

In the morning rush people see him every day and dropping a dollar in his bowl is not going to solve his problem. I have raised this sometime back. Thought of raising it again.

  • 267 County Road 620 Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown
99 Ranch market is emitting a stong fried food/oil smell every day during business hours. I live on Monmouth between Bright and York. This has been a problem since they opened.
This is effecting quality of life in the neighborhood. Sitting outside when the wind is blowing from the West is a problem. Who has jurisdiction over this issue? Please inspect their exhaust system for compliance and mitigation.
  • 123 Coles St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown
The Air Conditioning compressors at McNair are ridiculously loud. You can hear them as a high pitched buzzing for blocks (and can even be heard through windows in houses behind the school). This is noise pollution to neighbors, and it is an ongoing problem for years now. They said they would fix it last year, but nothing. We should not have to live with this noise all summer/every summer. It prohibits us from enjoying our own property.

159 2nd Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown
The construction next to the waldo lofts on 159 2nd street has blocked off an entire section of a sidewalk, without given adequate room for pedestrians to travel as a detour. Not only that, they've then subsequently blocked off the 1st lane on the street, forcing people to walk in the MIDDLE of the street to get around their blockage. This is highly problematic, as the street already has a speeding (60+ mph) problem that has not yet been dealt with. The coupling of the speeding problem, and the construction company forcing pedestrians to walk in the MIDDLE lane of the street, is a recipe for disaster. To add insult to injury, there is a school in the building - and the street does not indicate this at all.

I'm guessing this problem will only be addressed by the NEXT mayor. Although I had been happy with our present mayor up to now, he has clearly shown we need a new plan by a new mayor to address this problem. Counsel too!! With the new buildings going up and the huge influx of more people and cars a plan is needed to stop the illegal parking. Clearly by the businesses it is watched carefully. However, in this area we are completely ignored. The area is around 10th street by Coles St and Jersey Ave. Cars are parking all day illegally with the parking authority completely ignoring calls to please come down and police the area. The other night a fire truck had to completely stop to navigate the corner of 10th and Coles because of the cars parked on the corners illegally. They are parked all day with no parking decals and even out of state plates. On Jersey Ave and 10th cars park EVERY day in an area clearly marked with paint and signs. Even over on 18th off Coles is a mess. I have made calls to the mayor's office and call the Parking Authority often (I called every day for a while, but they just ignore me or don't even answer the phone at times. It's a mess and it needs to be addressed. We need a plan to address the influx of all the people and cars before we turn into a "little New York". Finally, the street garbage is getting worse too!!!
  • 371 2nd St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - Downtown
Latin Lounge's patrons continuously cause all sorts of problems after close on weekend nights. Last night I had a group screaming outside my apartment at 3 am. There are fights, cars blaring music, the list goes on. Latin Lounge does a terrible job at respecting their neighbors by keeping their patrons respectful.

The same group of the teens that were previously reported hanging out/causing problems in this area are back. Walked outside to them smoking weed and throwing trash everywhere. The school put someone out there initially when we last reported the problem and it seemed to do the trick. I’ve called the police to try to do something today but this problem keeps reoccurring.
