Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study Requests AcknowledgedChristopher Columbus Dr & Marin Blvd Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe left signal turning from Columbus onto Marin coming from Grove Street was apparently intentionally turned off to allow more time for people to drive across Columbus. This makes it basically impossible to turn left onto Marin, as you have to cross two lanes of traffic, wait for Marin to clear, and wait for any pedestrians in the cross-walk. It often takes one car two full cycles to turn left through the intersection. It should be turned back on and the whole cycle should be lengthened to solve both problems.

Parking issues Archived1 Canal Street Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownCould you please reinstate the "No Parking" signs next to the bike lane of Grove Street near 235 Grand Street (behind Grand Street)? Cars are often parked there, causing frequent traffic problems.

168 1st St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe charging stations are rarely available to use in front of the Oakman. It's very frustrating the parking in front of the charging stations are occupied by non- electric vehicles. Kindly consider adding signage stating "Tow Away Zone- Plugged In Vehicles Only" would
alleviate the problem as well as green lines painted on the ground as they are in other places around the city. There actually used to be signs some months back but they were removed. -
108-176 Van Vorst St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe grating around this tree is missing and is a serious trip hazard and a problem for strollers and buggys. All of the other trees on this part of Van Vorst have gratings around the trees but this one is a sharp-edged hole.

Sidewalk Obstruction Acknowledged158 Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownHI there. Is there a way to either a) trim the trees and b) replace the lights around the block from the empty laundry mat to the back area of K9dergarten so no one can gather there to "stop and cop" 24/7, hanging around on the public street and making loud noises almost every day and night? It has becoming a nuisance that this specific group of people would sell drugs and create an unsafe environment in downtown Jersey City, and being disrespectful to the residents in this area who are actually paying rents and mortgages. Thank you so much for listening and hopefully you can provide some solutions to this ongoing problem.

Pedestrian Safety Request AcknowledgedJersey Ave & York St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThis continues to be a serious problem. There is not a day that goes by where cars roll through or blatantly disregard the stop sign in both directions in an effort to make lights. I myself have nearly been hit many times, and my neighbor was nearly the latest casualty today--had he not jumped out of the way, he would have been hit. This is an active pedestrian (and child-focused) area given the park on the opposite side of the street, as well as numerous schools and day cares in the area. Someone will inevitably be hit if more is not done to beef up pedestrian safety on Jersey Ave (ie more lighted pedestrian walkways with crossing buttons/flashing lights in all 4 directions).

274-292 10th St Jersey City, NJ 07302, USA - DowntownOn 12/15/17 I reported illegal stopping/standing in front of the Embankment House (issue 3954356) and requested that no stopping or standing signs be placed in front of the entrance to this building. 3 months ago Andrew V indicated that the no stopping or standing signs would be installed. On 1/29 Jennifer C reported that the signs were installed and the issue was closed. This is not true. No Stopping/Standing signs were not installed in front of the entrance. Instead No Parking signs were installed at each corner. As you can see from the photo, this is still a problem. It is creating hazardous road conditions every day and it is only a matter of time before there is an accident. Reopen this issue and fix it properly.

Business Complaint Archived191-193 Newark Avenue Jersey City, New Jersey - Downtown
Gypsy Grill's sidewalk cafe area extends more than halfway across the total width of the sidewalk. It is very problematic during rush hour.
There are unused holes for the fencing that appear to be in the proper place, but they do not use those.

Traffic/Pedestrian Safety Study Requests Acknowledged2nd St & Coles St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownThe intersection of coles and 2nd street and the crosswalks are continually blocked off by traffic since you jammed up the intersection of 2nd and newark with stupid useless plastic sticks. You need to remove the ugly mess at the end of the block and put the road back the way it was and just move the crosswalk to the narrow part of the road. You are continually endangering pedestrians with this mess because cars are constantly sitting in the crosswalks. All this did is make everything worse when there was never a problem before. Do you need to have a pedestrian hit by a car before you take this down? Just put up a speed bump or traffic light if you need to. It also jams up traffic at the laundromat there because a lot of people stop to pick up laundry and you took away the only space to safely pul over out of the way

Loud music Open165 Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - DowntownEvery night there's a bunch of guys hanging out near the parking lot/laundromat with really loud music playing from their car(s) and it's become such a huge problem to go to bed at a reasonable hour because of this. I understand that people are entitled to their personal liberty but your personal liberty should not be coming at the cost of my sleep/comfort in my own home. The volume levels are unbelievably loud (so loud it reaches up to the 4th floor clearly) and a real hazard in terms of noise pollution. I write this at 1 AM so you can imagine my frustration. I wonder who can take this issue and take action in terms of preventing such loud music being played while the sidewalk is being blocked by these men??

Service Request Not Listed Archived321-327 Grove St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
We all know the person who is handicapped and sitting on a wheel chair in the sidewalk of Columbus and Grove near the square or near the PATH entrance.
Whose responsibility it is to take care of him? Looks like someone drops in and picks him. While I surely want to join the others to help him , don't know how to. Should the city take care of it ?In the morning rush people see him every day and dropping a dollar in his bowl is not going to solve his problem. I have raised this sometime back. Thought of raising it again.
