Traffic Signal IssueKinilala92 Fellsway W Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
Where Salem Street crosses the Fellsway, the road broadens out from one lane to two lanes (there aren't lane lines, but that's how people treat it). However, there's no signage designating whether people going straight should be in one lane or another. That often leads to frustration, as people jump between lanes based on whichever appears to be shorter. I've witnessed several close calls where someone gunned it at the last second to change lanes to avoid someone turning.
It seems like going either direction, a designated "left turn only" lane should be created, while the right lane would be for right turns and people going straight.

Traffic Signal IssueKinilalaOak Ridge Rd Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordI have visited the DPW twice since April of 2019 regarding missing STOP and stop line templates at each of the four existing STOP signs. Initially I was told that there was a backlog because of rainy conditions was informed by email over a year ago that my request would be "First on the list". This is a cut through between Grove Street and the Mystic Valley Parkway and without these painted templates motorists fly through as if the signs are invisible. I don't understand how such a simple request can not be acknowledged or completed within a year's timeframe.

Traffic Signal IssueKinilala135 High St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordThe temporary crosswalk at the corner of Boynton Rd and High Street is not very visible due to library construction and parked cars. There really should be a push button to illuminate a warning light for a pedestrian in the crosswalk. At least something similar to what exists at Governors Ave and High Street if not a fully operational traffic light.

Traffic Signal IssueKinilala26 City Hall Mall Medford, MA 02155, USA - MedfordThe lanes turning left from City Hall Mall onto Salem Street are fading and cars are turning into the incorrect lane. Cars in the leftmost lane on City Hall Mall swerve into the middle lane on Salem Street, when the lines (faded) indicate they should turn into the leftmost lane on Salem St. I have almost been run into many times in my car.

3 Forest St Medford MA 02155, United States - MedfordNot urgent, but the traffic signal on forest street going towards Main Street needs to be addressed. The green light is (and always has been) very short, especially in comparison to the light on Salem street. It is so short that in the mornings, traffic on forest street is sometimes backed up all the way to Lawrence road. This causes problems for residents in the area. Any way it could be adjusted to make the green light cycle longer?

16 Burbank Road Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
Last fall, Burbank Road was the happy recipient of traffic modifications that reduced the number of people speeding through in order to avoid stopping at the light at Winthrop and Lawrence. Sadly, the signs were removed (as planned) in late fall and we are now back to seeing cars whizzing by, being honked at by drivers while we back into our driveways, and taking our life in our hands as we walk across the street to talk to our neighbors. What would it take to make those changes permanent? The reason why the problem exists is that there is no right on red at Winthrop and Lawrence. The danger that a right on red there posed to pedestrians has now transferred to the corners at Burbank and Badger, where instead of having a well defined corner, there are two corners where cars sometimes act as if there are two lanes, or a lane and a turning lane, or a lane and racetrack with an out-of-the-blue car darting straight toward the nearest pedestrian.
There are two possible solutions to this set of problems; one involves restricting the flow of cars onto Burbank, and the other involves establishing two lanes at the light at Winthrop and Lawrence and enabling cars to take a right on red. Which one would be best for the City?

Traffic Signal IssueKinilala40 Cedar Rd N Medford 02155, United States - MedfordThe word stop used to be painted on the street but due to utility work is no longer there.

Traffic Signal IssueKinilalaMystic Valley Pkwy Medford 02155, United States - MedfordThe button on the north side to request the walk light does not work. I waited for several minutes to make sure it wasn’t a timing issue. The button on the south side of the road works, however.

Salem Street @ Ashland Street Medford, Massachusetts - MedfordThe flashing traffic light for the pedestrian crossing on Salem Street and Ashland is useless and ineffective. Cars go down that street too fast and do not see the flashing lights. I was almost hit by a car trying to cross to go to the CVS. PUT A REGULAR TRAFFIC LIGHT!
-
501-501 Winthrop St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - MedfordThe induction coil that triggers the light for traffic leaving the High School does not detect bikes. That means if you leave the high school on a bike and wish to turn left onto Winthrop St, you can't do it until a car comes up behind you.

Traffic Signal IssueKinilala586 Boston Ave Medford 02155, United States - MedfordTraffic light northbound on Boston ave: sensor is not triggered by bicycles and the light is not automatic. If I get a red and there are no cars with me at the intersection it won’t give me a green and I have to run a red light to get through. Please fix!
