I’d rather they spent the money on fixing road infrastructure. Ie potholes and other issues that can damage cars and increase repair costs to drivers. I can live more with weeds on a side road than with the cost of repairs caused by potholes. While pride is important budgets can only fix so much and priorities are made. I vote weeds are less important than fixing roads. Im sure the weeds will be chopped. I just bet its on a longer time gap than normal.

@Big Mike, maybe it’s not a concern of yours, but it is for those of us who live on Colony St. The town’s unkempt property lowers our property value. PW doesn’t need an increased budget to do the work they’ve always done. They need better management. Pothole repairs require capital, sending a PW employee over with a lawnmower and some hedge clippers does not. I vote that the town take care of its property, and fix the potholes. We don’t need 6 PW employees to grind a tree stump. They need to allocate their workforce better.

I wrote about overgrown weeds at the town lot diagonally across the street from Memorial Town Hall months ago (cor. Whitney and Dixwell). Never attended to; still looks ratty.
