Description
On Sunday, August 15, I had my dog at the Maryland City Dog Park - on the smaller side of the two fenced in areas. He was running and ran into the side of the bench. Because the sides of the bench are not covered, the hollow side sliced into my dog’s side and caused him to need to go under anesthesia and he required sutures to close the wound. He also needs to be on medicine to help the wound heal for two weeks and will need to go back in to get the suture removed. This has been traumatic to both of us, and could have been avoided had these benches been properly and safely assembled. I have attached a picture of the vet bill, I also have two people who were with me who saw this happen. I would like the county to fix the benches to make them safe as this is something that could happen to any dog who plays here, and could have been so much worse had he hit an artery or another more delicate part of his body. I would also like the county to cover my vet bill. I would never have incurred these costs had the bench been safe for dogs in the first place. Please contact me at your soonest convenience to get this resolved.
