Hello....it's 4 months have passed and the bridged are still shut off. Please advise.

I suspect that if this isn’t fixed soon, residents will start going around the fence and using the damaged bridges. The path and bridges are the only way through and around the park. Without the bridges, the park’s utility is greatly diminished, and that is adversely affecting residents’ quality of life!

Please fix the footbridges in Booker Creek Park, the park is largely unusable without them. It’s been four months since they were shut down without any signs of work being done

We’ve called countless times to get an idea of repair schedules and haven’t received any feedback. 4 months seems like adequate time to repair 2 small bridges. With limited indoor access to workout this park provided a safe alternative. PLEASE communicate and at the minimum let us know that these repairs are coming up soon.

I used to run these bridges on a daily basis as well. Now I have to cross busy streets to get in a good workout. The foundation of these bridges appear sound. Simply replacing the horizontal decking boards should not take this long.

I used the bridges daily. This is a safety hazard. Please fix the issue immediately. The delay on this project is unacceptable.

City of St. Pete- please fix the Booker Creek Park bridge. We pay far too much money into the City coffers to have this publicly used park issue persist for months.

Please fix the bridges. This park is really important to my family and my neighbors. We use it and love it. Lets get this done!

We walk this park daily and the closures have deterred us from spending more time there. We’ve noticed an increase in homeless population hanging out at the park performing illicit activities(heavy drug use, bathing in the pond, urinating on trees from the pathway, graffitiing the trees) due to the slower foot traffic that’s been created by these obstructions. Another observation is that we’ve seen a number of the homeless people climbing the fences and still utilizing the damaged bridges which seems like a major liability. Lastly, the amount of trash around the park has increased which seems highly correlated to the aforementioned problems.

All of this said, this is hurting the appeal of North Kenwood as well as our nearby neighborhoods and it’s unfortunate that our city is not giving this attention especially considering the overseeing municipal offices are a stones throw from this park!

My family likes to walk this park regularly. 4 months is getting to be to long for this issue. Its should be fixed asap.

What my neighbors said! I miss going to Booker Creek. I used to exercise there a few times a week and would pass by others also getting in a walk or run. I stopped going because its completely inaccessible and the only people there are sleeping or using drugs.

Please get this fixed, it's been months. What's causing the delay? We'd love to be able to walk around the park, especially with cooler weather hopefully coming soon. Thank you.

I support getting this matter resolved with the bridges in brooker creek park seems like the bridges has been gated for ages and is being neglected.

Still waiting - we were told that our bridge was next in line after they fix Snell Island bridge..that was 3 weeks ago...

This park needs serious attention. I love walking there but with the bridges closed, it’s impossible to walk around the park. And it’s getting crazy there. Homeless camps set up all around there which is one thing. But last Saturday at 9am, someone overdosed in the park. Come on St Pete. Fix this park and clean it up. You can do better than this.

Another 4 weeks have passed, and the bridges are still not repaired. We were told a month ago that our bridges were "next in line" after the Snell Island bridge is repaired. Booker Creek bridges are wooden. Snell Island bridge is concrete...does the same crew work on both? Anyway, it's been about 4 months without the full use of our neighborhood park, and with the reduced foot traffic, the homeless folks are everywhere....

Can we at least get a serious timeline on when this repair will be completed? I have seen people jumping the fences blocking the bridges. More liability for the City. I bet if this park were in an affluent neighborhood or downtown, it had been repaired immediately. Come on! We also pay taxes, and deserve better!

Can we just remove the temporary fences? I'd rather take my chances with the bridge at this point...
