Mô tả

Fri, Oct 8, 2021 Day 36 of City of BI failure to enforce its ordinance 15.12.280 Nuisance in the right-of-way The objects (garbage containers - see picture from Oct 7) that are illegally stored at Wardwell and McRedmond along the BIParks Great Forest and Cross Island Trail route are attracting dangerous wildlife putting the public and its property at risk

The ordinance states that if the object is a hazard to public safety, it shall be removed by the city without prior notice

The City Manager, Blair King, Deputy City Attorney, Andy Sletten, and Public Works Director, Chris Wierzbicki have all been notified of this violation and the ongoing threat it causes to public safety but have chosen not to enforce the law

This nuisance is on the Wardwell portion of the Trails Waterfront route (where this picture was taken this morning luckily from my car) just before entering the Roadside Section loop at Location 37 This violation puts an additional risk to out of town visitors of the area as there is also no public disclosure to the risk this nuisance causes

As was published in the BI local paper recently, a cat was attacked by a coyote in a homeowners backyard puncturing the cats brain which had to be euthanized

If an incident happens because of their negligence - please know as a Concerned Citizen I tried to do my part to help protect my fellow BI islanders and visitors alike
