  The lack of governance unfortunately does not stop at traffic law enforcement. Our City leadership has decided that a full lack of governance is the new way to go in our once safe and beautiful city. The police are stretched so thin dealing with crime that traffic conditions are no longer a consideration. This city needs new leadership focused on real issues that effect the tax payers.

  The DPW always says it's doing an investigation and why is that?? You always say that but nothing is done! What is the number for the person who is the head of DPW and I don't mean Philip Peterson!!

  Hello Gil. Our staff works tirelessly on these issues. You and I have spoken on the phone a few times and traded an email or two about See Click Fix. All of these repeated comments are not helpful or conducive to us in getting work done or to the community who uses this forum very productively. I've encouraged you to use this platform for it's intended purpose: maintenance requests and comments to aid in that process. You are also welcome to call us as you've done in the past (802-863-9094). Please ask for the Director.

  If you wish to engage in ongoing dialogue, any of our social media platforms, our numerous public meetings, sending email concerns or calling us are very helpful. You should also write your Councilor if you have concerns you wish to express. Please help us keep see click fix focused on making and addressing maintenance concerns.

  We all know what needs to be done. Build the Champlain Parkway. The city and state have acknowledged the need for decades. Unfortunately, politics have created a situation that DPW in partnership with the city council have chosen to kick the can far down the road with no intention of ever connecting 189 to the road if it is built. Meanwhile, dangerous truck and car traffic speeding down neighborhood streets increases, with ever-growing online shopping, Higher Ground/Burton coming, City Market, Hula, more and more breweries and restaurants drawing more and more traffic, yet DPW does nothing to alleviate the dangerous conditions. But hey, maybe people will all start riding bikes from their far-off suburbs and towns to get into the biggest city in the state. This is the kind of aspirational lunacy that we get in the form of city planning.

  Chapin Spencer told me that it's going out for bid next month and they hope the first part will be built this winter

  My concern is connecting the road to 189. Building the multi-use path and road is great, but the entire reason to have the project is to move traffic from 189 to downtown without using neighborhood streets. When will that be started. That part has been broken off into a separate project with monies that must be allocated by the city council, which as currently configured would never allocate them. And that is why the project was ever concieved in the first place!

  Yes, 189 is supposed to be connected after the 1st part is built going to downtown. Why they broke it up into 2 separate parts who knows and I didn't think to ask him about that
