I am another neighbor concerned about the cars speeding down Sand Creek. It happens frequently where children cross this street. The no turn on red light on Otis and Willow causes cars to cut through this street. This street urgently needs a slow street, speed bumps or another fix to avoid injuries.

I live on Sandcreek Way and have two young daughters that cross the street to play with friends. There are cars using the street as a cut through and speeding down the street constantly. The accident yesterday in the picture was someone using Sandcreek as a cut through. Please add speed bumps or something before someone gets hurt.

I have lived on Sandcreek Way since 1976.
I raised 3 children and was constantly worried about the speeding on this street mainly by non residents. They have always used this street as a cut through to Willow from Otis or the other way around. We have quite a few children living on this street now and it is very dangerous and unsafe.
Speed bumps would be a welcomed sight and put some the parent’s minds at ease.
Even myself as I have a grandson living right through the alley way and has to cross the street to get to gramma’s house.
I hope you will seriously consider this request. It would be greatly appreciated.

I submitted a separate request but will add a comment here to say that we are in support of the city prioritizing adding speed bumps to Sandcreek Way. We live on Sandcreek with our two small children and are worried about speeding/spillover traffic from Otis. I know speed bumps may take time, so in the interim would like to request that the city please make our street a designated “slow street” asap. Thank you!!

I also live on Sandcreek Way and I have similar concerns. People taking short cuts through Sandcreek Way have increased since the traffic calming measures implemented on Otis Drive reduced two lanes to one lane each way. I am all for the traffic calming measures that was implemented on Otis Drive making the general neighborhood safer. However, the unintended consequences of shifting speedsters lacking patience onto our street driving at unsafe speed endangering residents living here. Suggest traffic calming measures on Sandcreek Way to mitigate this effect and the risks to the residents.

We live 1 block over from Sandcreek but have children that play with friends that live on Sandcreek. This is definitely being used as a "cut-through" street even before the no turn on red was implemented at Otis and Willow. Cars frequently drive much too fast down this small residential street. I cannot think of a better candidate for a "slow street". This is a "side street" that is not meant to support traffic. I strongly urge making this a "slow street".

I share all the concerns stated here by other residents. My children walk along Sandcreek daily. They have close friends who live on Sandcreek. I regularly see non-residents driving well above the speed limit and I have witnessed close calls with kids on a number of occasions. It is clear motorists use Sandcreek to avoid the traffic light at Otis and Willow. Some change is needed to slow motorists or deter the use of Sandcreek as an alternative to Otis. Please help!

I'm a Sandcreek resident and frequently see drivers speeding down the street as a cut-through to Otis. On multiple occasions, I've witnessed speeding cars not pause for pedestrians or children playing. Our street also sees an influx of traffic due to games & events at Rittler Park. I'm asking the city to please take action.

I live on Sandcreek Way and have witnessed cars speeding on our street and also bypassing Otis to get to Willow via Sandcreek Way. A slowdown would help. Thanks!

We see that as drivers come up Willow Street towards Otis Drive and the traffic lights turn red on Otis, they immediately make a left turn to Sandcreek Way to avoid the lights. This poses a danger to anyone crossing the intersection at Sandcreek Way. We havw witness accidents and near accidents at pr near the intersection because they whip around so fast at the last second.

There should be a stop sign on Willow rogjt before Sandcreek or speed bumps should be place on Sandcreek near Willow Street.

This is very concerning. Indeed even Waze directs drivers through this street for a 'faster route'.
Adding bumps or another way of slowing down cars would be beneficial to the safety of all.

As part of their evaluation, they will make recommendations on potential next steps for Sandcreek Way.
