I live on Stone Monument Drive directly next to the new Palisades apartments that have opened up off of Ligon Mill Rd. When the developer removed the orange barricades from Stone Monument Drive at the entrance to the apartments from our neighborhood, no stop sign, speed hump, or speed limit sign was installed. All kinds of traffic has already begun to fly through this newly opened through access to Ligon Mill Road. There is a steep hill coming down Stone Monument Drive and drivers are getting up to high speeds coming down the hill. And then there is no stop sign to slow them down as they enter the apartments. Also, there’s another steep hill as they continue down to Ligon Mill. There are many kids that play on this block, and people are speeding at 50 MPH through our residential area. I have told my kids to stay in our yard or on the sidewalk, but I still do not feel safe having them play out front in our yard bc of the speeds I see cars reaching right in front of our home. Please consider this safety matter promptly by installing a speed limit sign and stop sign at the entrance to the apartment complex. Thank you!
