Dear Tim,
I leave near Forts Ferry and River Roads and work in Century Hill office park. I commute with my 3 year old grandchild who attends a day care center in the Capital Imaging building at 1001 Loudon Rd. To get to the day care, I take a left turn off Dunsbach Ferry Rd, crossing 5 lanes of traffic on Route 9 and then I take an immediate right into the parking lot, just north of the Lexus dealer. To get to my office in Century Hill from the day care parking lot is just as dangerous. My situation is the most difficult but even cars turning on and off Route 9 (who do not have to execute a quick turn immediately) also have difficulty. I have seen many near misses and there was an accident requiring an ambulance a few weeks ago. It is extremely difficult as the traffic on Rt 9 travels at a high rate of speed and the center medium is used continually for cars turning in both directions, often times drivers are checking traffic in one direction while cars are entering in the other direction. This is a state road and I am wondering if the state is considering putting a traffic light to avert future accidents. Thank you. This is a great service to our community.
