Today is AUGUST 31, 2015 and nothing has been done in regards to this issue. The "occupants" in these boarded up buildings on Prentiss Place have gone as far as tapping electricity from neighboring buildings and switching neighborhood garbage bins after Friday mornings garbage pickups.

Today is OCTOBER 22, 2015 and the squatter(s) at these fenced off boarded up properties are still there. They cut the metal gate and still tapping electricity from neighboring buildings. See picture of how they are stealing electricity from neighboring buildings' outside light fixtures. If these Prentiss Place buildings are abandoned, why can't the City or EBMUD cut off their access to the utilities they are stealing. Everyone is concerned of the criminal activities and blight these squatters bring to the neighborhood.

Today is NOVEMBER 11, 2015 and the squatters at these fenced off boarded up properties are still there. They continue stealing electricity from neighboring buildings despite continuously unplugging everything. They steal and break the exterior light bulbs that provide light to building occupants as well as people using the public sidewalks. These squatters ride their "bikes" around the neighborhood and in the night take advantage of the darkness of Davis Street and Prentiss Place intersection for their loitering activities. Blight breeds blight and clearly these abandoned, blighted buildings are breeding unwanted squatters and illicit activities into the neighborhood. The City of Oakland and other local government agencies have not followed up on this.

Here is a sample of how these squatters continue to live in these boarded up abandoned Prentiss buildings by stealing electricity from other people who pay their PG&E bills. They attach an adapter and break the glass bulb so the electricity will still feed into the bulb via the adapter BUT because the glass bulb is broken, no light is produced yet the electricity goes through the heavy gauge extension cord and back to the abandoned Prentiss Buildings. They probably have multiple outlets inside feeding their various electrical appliances like electric heater, lamps, and cooktop.

Here is where the extension cord leads to on this particular incident. It leads right to the abandoned buildings at the corner of Prentiss Place and Davis Street.
