I am astounded and extremely disenchanted with Saratoga Springs after reading the article in this morning's paper about Dog Park to be fenced in. As a parent, dog parent, and resident, I am furious that the Commissioner of Finance plans to use REC funds and refinance bonds to do this. Parents have to raise their own money for playgrounds at their child's school, even after asking the city to help, yet we can use REC FUNDS and refinance city bonds to fence a dog park? How come that wasn't an option for a playground at the East Side Rec, but it is for a dog park? NO offense to dog people, I am a dog person, but this is ludicrous. How come we have ANCIENT UNSAFE playground equipment in the middle of Saratoga Springs, yet we can fence a dog park?

They are also looking for seniors to volunteer for the job.
And somebody is also going to need to weed-whack the fences when the grass and weeds start growing. Good exercise for everyone.
