The tree is in fair or better condition, and is not causing damage to private property. The tree will not be removed, but we will continue to monitor. I'll have the street department inspect the sidewalk to see if repairs are necessary.

The problem is not with the health of the tree. It is the fact that the roots are dangerously close to the sewer line, the ting lines, and various other lines (services) on the left side of the house. Also causing damage to our cars as well as driveway. I want the tree removed and we are happy to plant another tree in the front yard in a place that is less invasive so we can mitigate the issues that the roots are causing under ground. We could incur thousands of dollars in damage if we don't remedy. I am not one to want to remove trees but this one was ill planted in a place that as way to much "stuff" underground that can interfere with.

We have over 18,500 street trees in the right of way and have never, to my knowledge, confirmed a root and underground utility conflict. We will prune the tree back from over the driveway.

We have had contractors look at the tree and they have told us it needs to be removed. I would prefer if you not make assumptions about what you have seen before vs. actually assessing the tree. Also last year during covid when the city came out to prune (I don't have the name of the person) he indicated to us that this tree is a candidate for removal because of its placement. Near the buried lines and the ting line. Please assess it with one of us (homeowners) present. We are willing to place a replacement tree in our main front yard to replace the other. We are even willing to pay a tree service to come and remove it.
