Newnan Stormwater Department assigned this issue to City Engineer

Just about the time I thought the city of Newnan was going to step up and help this flooding historical district right smack dab in the middle of town, I hear the neighborhood at the corner of West Broad and College Street have flooded more times when it rains and now because the "new" drainage system is causing a bigger flooding problem and these poor people are losing property items and more of their home foundations. Rise up, people of Newnan and force the city to be responsible!! Not only can these families not sell their homes, there will be an entire neighborhood of rubble in the downtown district of the city. Politics be damned!!! Get off your @#$% and do something, Newnan, to help these people. If this was happening to your home, you would be livid. Do something before the "City of Homes" becomes a disaster area. You have allot more to lose than you think.

Seriously, Mr. Klahr??? You CLOSED the issue?? I have no words. Well, I do have words, but SCF won't print them. I hope you sleep well at night. This is wrong and you know it's wrong. Mr. Howard has worked with you tirelessly in an effort to save his home and those of his neighbors. The saying, "you can't fight the city" is so true. The city doesn't listen to people. You just "close" things. Imagine the worst thing you could be called and then look in the mirror and own it. The day you are fired is the day I'll say "CLOSED!" Until then, I plan to keep it OPEN!

The City of Newnan makes every positive effort to address issues of the city for its citizens. We will be more than happy to address this issue again face to face or please give us a call. Hello Mr. Public Information Officer (Who ever you are),
If this is not the forum to address issues and problems, then would you please tell me how we are supposed to do it. I'll be more than happy to give it a shot as, for the past 20 (TWENTY) years, I have been reporting this problem to the City of Newnan. I have taken VCRs (they didn't have DVDs when this all started) down to the offices, visited the city offices to ask about it, hand delivered a DVD to Mr. Klahr's office last month, sent a DVD to the Mayor, and I have yet to get one single response. If you think that all of the work recently done on College Street was in response to my complaints, take two more guesses. A car opened up a sink hole in the pavement one night and College Street had to be closed. Then and only then did they find that the storm drain system was in ruins. After digging it all up, they basically verified what I had been reporting over that 20 year period. Now that the "fix" has been implemented, the flooding is even worse that it was before as the storm water drain rate-of-flow was cut in half on the East side of College Street. Now, this new Storm Drain System has a back pressure problem and it actually pumps Storm water from College St., under the sidewalk and into our already flooded back yards. I'll bet you don't know what else they discovered regarding that fix, do you? BTW, this issue will stay open until the issues are solved.. Jake Howard
Well, Mr. Public Information Officer,,,, how about sharing some of that information before we get flooded again. I have tried everything I can think of to get someones attention at the City. So, just how do I do it or what "forum" do I use?
