I do not understand how stopping 3 times to get through one intersection constitutes efficient traffic management. Every time we stop we wear brakes and tires and burn fuel. This creates pollution, wears out our vehicles and the roadway, and hence this costs us all money not to mention time and our shortened lifespans due to the needless pollution created. Does someone at UDOT own auto parts stores or a dealership? And how much did we pay for this intersection? $10-20 million would my guess. Can we please use this investment in an efficient and effective manner? Adjusting 2 lights by 5 seconds each would solve the problem.

The interchange at SR-201 and Bangerter Highway has more vehicles trying to use it during peak hours than it can accommodate. The signal timing is set to balance service to different competing movements, all of which experience delay and congestion. Adjustments to favor one direction will come at the expense of another direction. If your schedule does not allow you to use an alternate route or to avoid peak travel periods, please be prepared for congestion and delays.
