Description

The corner of Manhattan Ave and Central Ave is extremely dangerous for both pedestrians and bicyclists. Cars never stop when turning right onto Central Ave from Manhattan Ave. The green light for traffic coincides with the crosswalk light for pedestrians.

I’ve seen multiple near-encounters. There needs some kind of protections for bikes and pedestrians here. The park is where so many children play and the lack of road safety puts them in danger.

Maybe a protected bike lane. There is also never any enforcement here. Today there is a JCPD cruiser parked inside the park, where it’s perfectly safe, but no one monitoring pedestrian safety on Central Ave.
