Definitely the worst pothole I’ve ever hit. It’s not safe. I understand snow removal tears up the roads but that one has been there for awhile. My car was definitely damaged too.

It’s definitely a bad accident waiting to happen. I was almost certain it caused damage when I hit it, but after inspection it looks like I was lucky.

Caused my car to shake afterwards as well. Making a sligh whining noise like it damaged a wheel bearing or something. Suspension feels off now. I hit it tonight at 745 it was almost dark and raining and couldn't see it. It's huge and right in the lane of travel. It has to have been there a while. I'm lucky I didn't lose control.

Thank you! It's probably something to really keep an eye on as I'm sure it's already cost those of us who received damage close to $10,000. Our damage alone was around $700 and there were several cars pulled over with damage the first time we encountered it a few weeks ago.

Pothole patching efforts are made regularly in this area but unfortunately due to roadway temperatures, as well as snowplow operations, temporary pothole material does come loose and is merely a short term solution until warmer roadway temperatures allow for a more permanent fix.

UDOT crews will continue to monitor this pothole, and fill when necessary, until it can be repaired permanently.

Is there no recourse for damage caused. This was scary!

Someone pointed out that we, as tax payers, already pay for it to be fixed and to get recourse for our damages then we are paying for each other's damage - so may as well pay for our own :(
