This continues to be a significant unaddressed problem. At the very least, parking on at least one side of the street should be prohibited throughout daytime weekday hours. Ideally, however the original poster’s proposed solution would be adopted, which would be beneficial all the time. Parking is allowed far too close to the intersection.

Today, 4/11 the traffic was backed up on Stone School rd trying to turn onto Champagne because there were cars parked on both sides of the road. Maybe if the city came and watched this traffic situation before and after school, they’d fix this problem.

Staff routinely work with Ann Arbor Public Schools regarding concerns around the schools. As this item has not been confirmed as a concern through our work with AAPS, this item will be closed.

Please schedule a site visit to observe the area during the heavy traffic before and/or after school. The intersection of Stone School Road and Champagne is more than two blocks from Bryant School and the AAPS is in a financial crisis at this time. Previously, when the AAPS Transportation Safety Committee met regularly, AAPS staff, Ann Arbor City and Pittsfield Township Safety Services and others would act in a proactive manner to address safety concerns.
