That is typical of our city's finest, unfortunately. They are not well disciplined and think they are above the law. I have numerous examples similar, but will give you one - At a downtown construction site, the new 5 lane intersection, there was a red light and an ambulance could not get through.The officer on duty was sitting in his car, preoccupied with some personal thingsm newspaperm phonem and did nothing. The ambulance finally got thru when the light changed. I went to the officer and asked him why he had not opened the path for the ambulance. He went on to whine that he'd had 5 buddies get injured on duty, that I should get a job and not be there at that time, swore at mr and ranted. I told him that he should find another line of work. I called the PD internal affairs to report him and they said they had to send me a form, which arrived a ,month later.
I also have respect for good cops because it is a hard job, but no respect for this kind of behavior not becoming an officer, negligence of duty, abuse.
I understand that it is a difficult job with lots of stress, and so we need people that are up to it, and disciplined, so that they will be true heroes, and not unruly jerks. I support our police, but we need the police to also support us and do their jobs.
