Neither has Catalpa St. James Federal, Marinello, Summit, etc It's awful. We're not the fancy part of Albany that has no butts, fast food remains, garbage can remains, etc. --we need consistent cleaning. And where is Common Council member Sergio Adams on this to support us?

DGS street cleaners work on a ten to fifteen day schedule to ensure that every street in the City of Albany gets cleaned on a regular basis. The majority of street sweeping happens between 11:00PM and 7:00AM. Please know that this street has been added to the list for cleaning, and DGS staff will clean this street as soon as practicable. Please keep in mind that in some neighborhoods, street cleaning times will be dictated by alternate side parking restrictions. However, alternate side parking restrictions are not exclusively used for street sweeping.

I fully agree with the previous posts about these streets being neglected and not cleaned. Cars are moved for cleaning Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 12-3PM, but it doesn’t happen. These streets have debris/litter. Some of us are cleaning and picking up litter from the streets.

Mr. Adams — the councilman has been absent. I’m disappointed because he campaigned on a promise to be involved and accountable.

Simone- the entire common council is absent. They call special sessions to enact legislation to make September hemroidd awareness month across the city but do absolutely nothing to address REAL quality of life issues. the city is imploding and they are doing nothing

In normal cities, if you receive a parking ticket for not moving your car during street sweep hours and the sweeper doesn’t show up, the ticket is automatically dismissed. This is simply just a source of income for the city to blow on more bs

Here's hoping that all of our streets get cleaned on both sides this week and from now on, but who knows. Have no idea why Verified City Official Molly McGuire has not answered us, other than with a prepared script marking these posts as a "duplicate". I wonder why the City can't be transparent and show on their website the day/time of each street and when it was actually cleaned. Going on six weeks here...half the summer. Ridiculous. No help from Councilman Adams. And I wonder who supervises Verified City Official Molly McGuire and if any of the posts for her department are even reviewed.

The street sweeper just came, NOT during offside parking hours, and only did the first block of Barclay (Delaware to Summit) and didn't come down from Summit to the dead end. I have no idea if the other streets that have been mentioned were done. The street sweeper used to come almost weekly until about two months ago. And now today is it's first appearance since that time. The sanitary sewer grates are getting filled with debris. The streets are a mess. What gives? Who is making decisions about what gets cleaned and when?

Once again…alternating (Tuesdays/Wednesdays) weekly street sweeping on Summit Avenue and surrounding streets (Barclay St./Federal St/St. James St…) has stopped for weeks, and the streets are absolutely FILTHY!

How can the City of Albany expect its residents, students & kids, or visitors to have pride in their respective neighborhoods or attract new businesses and patrons when it appears that the City doesn’t care about its upkeep? I guarantee that the criminal elements are attracted to neighborhoods that are neglected and trash filled/filthy streets are an indication of neglect. Google (“Broken Window Theory”). Why is this a persistent issue for this area? The City is not cleaning and maintaining our streets but the streets in the wealthy communities are being cleaned and well maintained.

The Mayor and the Department of General Services spent this past Spring and Summer heavily publicizing and promoting tree planting/beautification initiatives throughout various neighborhoods in the City; yet the cleaning and sanitation within the same neighborhoods are neglected.

What can be done to address this once and for all?
