  Honestly, kids are crossing here to get across the street and it's scary, because it a blind corner there are so many bad drivers with accidents that happen frequently. My son is 11 years old and walks back with kids from Walsh that are trying to cross at the intersection.

  I really appreciate your help.
  Not to over emphasize the issue, but we just had another speeding related crash at the corner 2 days ago. It's a blind corner and cars habitually speed up and down the street. To be honest the speed should really be 25mph much like Edgell rd is north of Nobscot. The area is thickly settled and there are lots of younger families living here now.

  Edgell Road definitely has speeding and crash issues. We've been addressing some of the intersections. Water/Edmands and McAdams/Frost were recently done and the State will be improving the intersection at Central Street starting next spring. There have been 21 reported crashes at the Brook/Edgebrook intersection between Jan 2017 and Sept 2023. I'm not shocked there was another one a couple days ago. I think the intersection should be reconfigured before adding a crosswalk but that will be discussed tomorrow night. Unfortunately the city does not have the sole authority to change speed limits. The State would need to approve such a change and that is unlikely given the current speeds.

  I thoroughly appreciate your feedback and have seen the measurable benefit of the work that has been done to the intersections you mentioned. I wouldn't thrilled to have a light at the intersection considering the noise, but a solar powered speed sensor sign much like the one placed on Wickford road could make a huge difference. Just the blue flashing lights could help to slow traffic before the Brook Street intersection. I completely agree the intersection needs to be reconfigured, so traffic is slowed. Again, completely appreciate your help and I'm so thankful you wrote back. I'll try to attend the meeting.

  I was unable to make the meeting unfortunately, but I was able to find the plan online. The project looks to impact my land on the bottom right corner heavily. I worry how this will impact my corner and my the value of my land and home which is fair. If you have 5 minutes to go over the plan that would be wonderful. I love the placement of the crosswalks, but interested how this may impact my property.
