Now that Howard County has changed its school bus rules, many more children are walking. There is a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Centennial Lane and Burnside Drive that many children and their parents must use to safely walk or bike to school. This intersection is extremely dangerous: drivers turning cannot see pedestrians approaching Burnside Drive from the direction of the schools (Centennial Lane Elementary, Burleigh Manor Middle, Centennial High). Please add signage alerting drivers to look out for pedestrians. This crosswalk is the ONLY crosswalk many children can use to safely walk to school. This is an urgent issue to protect our children.
