Someone posted on ND regarding a nest in another area..and many people responded that they usually don’t reoccupy them.

Ditto to the earlier comment. Wasps do not reuse old nests, and the prevailing view seems to be that removing an old nest actually makes it more likely that they will build a new one in the same spot. So perhaps better to leave it.
