Thank you for using this application to report an issue to the City of Albany. DGS staff will be sent to remove the trash. If there is household garbage, DGS staff will search for evidence to determine who illegally dumped the trash in a public litter basket. If evidence is found, a bill will be sent to the appropriate person.

Thank you Molly. I was glad to see DGS employees came and cleaned up this mess. However, your response is deeply concerning to me. I agree that household garbage should not be dumped in a public wastebin but maybe people do that because the city is not adequately collecting trash. Rather then saying, "we need to do an extra trash pickup on Saturdays because this is ALWAYS an issue," your response is to spend city resources wasting through trash to penalize and target the people of our city. I don't hear DGS looking to penalize the suburbanites who come to Washington Park during the summer to picknic and leave trash all over the park. I don't hear DGS looking to penalize the drug addicts leaving hypodermic needles all over the park. I don't hear DGS saying let's monitor the park for safety and fine dog owners who leave large amounts of dog feces all over park. This city needs to change it's thinking from the philosophy of "no" to a "get to yes" solutions based mentally. Enough is enough, as a city let's not let Troy and Schenectady continue to outshine our city by thinking privately and with solutions rather then punishment.

Thank you for using this application to report an issue to the City of Albany. Please know that the trash reported in this request has been removed and this issue has now been resolved.

The city marked this issue as resolved. Will there be trash pick up for overflowing municipal trash cans on Saturday's? Will the city get larger trash cans or put another one there? This is an issue that occurs every weekend and is worse in the summer when the trash stinks. This issue is not fixed, what is the city's solution here other than sitting through trash to try and penalize its residents? Where are the solutions (I just gave you three solutions at no cost)?
