Neighbors!1 Isn't there anything we can do about these porch thefts? We've posted signs to all deliverers to take packets to back door but only US mail takes the trouble. So we are losing stuff on a regular basis as, we understand, you are too! . The last straw was the theft, a few days ago, of a parking permit tucked into our mailbox. How brazen can these people get? I have surveillance cameras but I need to find out how to access past data. Also last time I did get access the thief was hooded and I cdn't get sight of his face. He just marched up to my porch, picked up the packet and sauntered off again as casual as you please! The cops weren't interested-- just grinned and said "Yeah! it's bad..." SO -- since we now know, from vigilant watchers, that the thieves follow the delivery trucks and then simply pick up the delivered packets, why can't a plainclothed cop simply follow the thief following the delivery trucks? It may take a few days but it would in the end pay off, saving endless futile reports and subsequent police visits -- just as futile -- dozens and dozens of them.
