It is evident the on again/off again construction of this house is far from completed. It has been at least 2 years to reach the stage it is in now. Meanwhile the side yard is an exposed accumulation of building materials that is unsightly and gives the structure a dilapidated appearance. Is there an ordinance requiring an orderly appearance of a building site when construction takes years to complete? Is the owner required to observe some kind of completion time?

3716 Old Coach is a community eyesore. It goads me everytime i drive past. The windows are open to rain, the plastic is torn and flying off the roof, the yard is full of debris, and its been going on for YEARS. This is not a normal construction site. I don't feel sorry for the owner, he is the construction contractor as well as the owner. He is simply lazy. There is no reason there is no covering over the windows. The rain coming in is ruining his whole house. Please, City of Raleigh, if there is a way to approach this problem thru Construction Permits, help this guy by applying consequences !!! The neighborhood doesn't need an abandoned mess, and if he doesn't correct the situation its going to fall down around him.

Raleigh Housing & Environmental Enforcement has investigated and initiated a public nuisance case on 3/20/2012 with deadline of 3/30/2012 to evidence compliance. Thanks for reporting.

For the issue at 4490 Antique Lane a public nuisance case was initiated on 3/20/12.
