Don't forget that they rarely mow until someone complains, have an old tire breeding mosquitos in front yard... they literally throw kitchen slop out their window when making dinner, there's a crust of gunk on the windowsill to show for it.

The property owner was sent a letter from Code Compliance on July 13th. The owner is given seven days to comply and after the seven day Code will reinspect the property. If it is not taken care of the City will have their contractor clean up the site and the owner will be billed for the work that is done.

Based on the city's portal, Code sent a letter for junk/trash on June 26 and a letter for weeds/grass on July 13. Both are still unresolved and status is still "sent letter." I don't get how they inspected the weeds on July 13 without citing them for the trash!

For general info, if the city has to cite a second time for the SAME infraction in the SAME year, there is supposed to be an automatic fine, might be $200 but I don´t recall.
Upshot. Keep on the city and get more citations against the owner.

I actually posted this because I want the city to ascertain that this is an unlicensed/unregistered rental, not to clean up trash (which is a separate issue). I am certain the owner does not live there and hasn't for many years.

No change to the situation.

435 Regent has become a nuisance property. Loud music, suspicious activity, weeds, etc. house is an unlicensed rental. Obviously calls to code compliance and posts in this site will not resolve anything. This house needs to be shut down.

Some of the junk got removed (I think the city sent someone to do it) but it's still an unregistered rental and I suppose that's never going to change. I realized this when I went to write the owners a letter asking them to please address some of the problems, and found that the owners claim to live at the house (when I know they've been gone for a decade). So I have no contact info for them in order to try to resolve these issues. But the city apparently is fine with people operating unlicensed rentals.

Still a half dozen cars coming and going all the time, all parked in the mudhole of their backyard, still an unregistered rental.

Code gave them a "failure to register" letter. This changed to being marked "complied" but the rental certificate listed in their record says "hold" with no further information and it's been that way a couple of months. So either things are moving very slowly or nothing's happening.

The place is still a mess, but they do now have a rental certificate.
