We used to bring things like that to the Salvation Army downtown, but now that is gone. We need a drop-off place like that for people who can't afford fees. It would be cheaper for the City.
We do have a list of several local non profits who accept items on our Bulk Trash page on city website. Salvation Army is still on the list but you are correct in writing they are no longer in that location. Please check current websites to ensure the information is still correct. PS. Forgot to add a link to our Residential Waste option. If you are a New Haven resident, you also have the option of picking up free coupons at our DPW office-34 Middletown Avenue which will permit you to drop off specific items for free at the dump.
