The peacocks are beautiful and appreciated in this area leave them alone!

They may be beautiful but they are creating a health problem with their feces and a property damage problem. They peck at cars when they see their reflection, do damage to roofs and dig in and destroy landscaping. They've gotten out of control.

Yeah wildlife, why should selfish humans share the planet....Psst: Don't eat or play in their poop and POOF there is no "health" issue. Perhaps you should lobby to ban all poop including our squirrels, rats, doves, blue jays, raccoons, cardinals, possums, lizards, and our also beautiful Owls, just so you'll feel safe...Here is a tip: Move to a paved animal free zone downtown anywhere where you can park you car in the parking garage and do landscaping in a pot on the window sill. I've been here in this neighborhood 16 years and seen no, nada, zero damaged caused by these birds, perhaps they just don't like you? Come to think of it they are in my yard nearly everyday and I've never seen any peafowl poop......

We moved to this neighborhood because we love the wildlife. Dont like it? Move. There are far worse things to worry about then free roaming animals. Do want them to peck at ur car? Park in a garage! Dont have one or no room...get a car cover. Simple fix. I beem here a little over two years, and cant complain about them. But people that have unattended back yard pools, letting mosquitoes breed is ridiculous! But sense their pool cant be seen feom the road, no one has to fix it. I cant enjoy my yard because of the mosquitoes problem, not because of peacock poop. Find something better to complain about. Lord knows everyone has something to say about everyone in this neighborhood! Mind ya business! Leave people and animals alone!

100% agree with you Tyler! I've told people where we live and had them instantly reply; "OH in the Peacock Neighborhood" and I'm always proud to say yes!

Me too!! I love this area! I actually had them eating out of my palm last summer. Babies and full grown peacocks. Even when people dont know about the peacocks, i tell em we have them and they are in aw, and want to come check them out and feed them. There are more people that love them, then hate them. I see people all the time (same people or new people) drive thru just to take pics and feed them. I love seeing people happy over free roaming peacocks. Let people enjoy life. :)

Yes they are beautiful. I have been here 15+ years, the 'herd' used to be managed. We have 23 babies this year, many of them male. The males are the loud ones during mating season and they enjoy their reflection in shiny cars. So we easily have 100 peacocks. The best part of having peacocks is they eat ticks, we have no ticks on the west side of 49th street. I walked my dog on the east side and she got a tick. Other than that, anyone that says they don't see their droppings is delirious. I plan on continuing to try to remove some to 3 properties that want some, share the wealth and beauty and everyone will be happy. DON'T FEED THE WILDLIFE. Oh yeah, one woman blocked the road with her van, ignored the UPS truck stuck behind her, while she fed Vienna sausages to the peacock. Are you kidding me? Who eats that stuff.

Update from Community Services: the City of St Petersburg does not have an animal services department to deal with the removal of wild (or feral) animals, and Pinellas County Animal Services can only respond to issues with pets, not wild or feral animals. You may wish to consult with private, licensed trappers or wildlife removal experts who operate in the St Pete/Pinellas area.
