The city removed a dead tree leaving an ugly stump, which was finally removed after several weeks. However, when the city came to remove the stump, they just ground it down and left a huge pile of mulch in its place. It's been there for a few weeks, the alderman has been contacted, and we were told there would be a tree planted in its place, but there doesn't seem to be any action on this front.

The city has different crews that grind stumps and pick up mulch and as you can imagine they are very short staffed. I'll contact them and let them know it's a priority. That being said, anyone who wants free mulch should come on by with a wheelbarrow and use it in their yard. Mulch can be pretty expensive!
