Stormwater Tech Inspected the basin on the corner, which has a hole next to it in the asphalt. The basin will be addressed in the spring/summer of 2016, and at that time, the crew will likely be able to address water turning down the sidewalk by re-working the pavement leading up to the drain.

Thank you for looking into this. Can anything be done this year to minimize the amount of water flowing on the sidewalk?

There is no immediate solution to prevent SOME water from flowing on the sidewalk. Sidewalks are impervious, and that one in particular is on a moderate slope, so it would still generate runoff on its own. As I observed yesterday during the rain, there was not a significant amount of water or turning down the sidewalk. A majority of the flow was still making it to the catch basin. NOT TO JUST GET THE LAST WORD IN, BUT I'M IN A 100% DISAGREEMENT WITH WITH THAT LAST DPW ENTRY. THAT OBSERVATION WAS MADE DURING A VERY, VERY LIGHT RAIN, I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET OUT AND ASK THAT YOU COME IN A WATCH ABOUT A 4 MINUTE VIDEO OF WHAT IT'S LIKE DURING A REAL RAIN STORM. I WAS HOPING TO UPLOAD THE VIDEO FOR ALL TO SEE, BUT MY LACK OF TECH KNOWLEDGE COULDN'T FIGURE OUT A WAY TO DO IT, .BUT. WOULD GLADLY SHOW IT ON MY TV TO ANYONE WHO WISHES TO VIEW IT.
I HAVE NO PROBLEM DIFFERENTIATING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN INSIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF RUNOFF (WHICH I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT REPORT AS A PROBLEM) BUT TO SEE A RAGING RIVER FLOWING DOWN MY SIDEWALK, I THOUGHT WAS WORTHY OF REPORTING.
